Edema and swelling after Taxol

Hi.

I was diagnosed with stage1 breast cancer in 2016, had double mastectomy and chemo (carboplatin, Taxol & herceptin).

Few weeks after I finished Taxol I started gaining weight (gained 35 pounds in a year) and swelling.

They put me on lasix but didn’t work then on Bumex which was making me drop 10 pounds overnight but then the weight was back the second day.

Bumex was making me feel dizzy and miserable. After a year I finished chemo I am still there.

Anyone else had the same problem?

I appreciate any help.

Hi ninasejo, I don't know if it's the same as what you had, but I had a similar thing happen with taxotere. I had leg swelling after my first dose that persisted and worsened after my last dose. When I knelt down my legs felt full and my skin was tight. It wasn't lymphedema, just a lot of fluid retention, but I had never had that before in my life. My MO didn't have much to say about it and told me to elevate my legs. It actually didn't go away for about six or seven months after stopping chemo, but it finally did. Hope you can find some answers soon.
