Extremely Tired 36 Hours After Biopsy
I had an ultrasound guided biopsy about 36 hours ago. I’ve had two children and three other surgeries and I have never felt this tired in my life. Is this common? Is it possibly a combination of the biopsy and the stress of knowing I likely have cancer (BIRAD 5 diagnosis is making me anxious and tired. I can barely stay awake for an hour at a time. I just doze off and wake up hours later. Any feedback would help.

Absolutely! Stress can definitely cause fatigue, malaise, and pain. You're in that special hell where you have just a leeeetle bit of information and no clear plan. Its exhausting. Once you have results and a plan in place youll probably feel more in control. (I found that hearing i had cancer was not as upsetting as hearing i might have cancer. )
Be kind to yourself. Rest and try to keep your hands busy. It will help yuou keep your mind busy.

Sounds normal. If your body is telling you to sleep, definitely try to get extra sleep!!

it's the stress. Stress does a number on your body. Take it easy. Rest and sleep when you need to. There's no harm in that. Wishing you B9 resukts

could be the local drug anesthetic causing it
i felt the same way last week

I'll add my vote for stress response. It's your body's way of protecting you when too much is being processed. Shutting down for a bit can be restorative.

RA,
I've read your other posts and I think it would be a good idea if you talk to your Dr about getting on some anti-anxiety meds. If they are that certain it's cancer, it will help you keep a semi-level head, especially in the beginning when a lot of information will be coming your way.
There are over 20 kinds of different kinds of cancerS that effect the breast, and it will take a bit of time to know what kind YOU are dealing with, and putting together a treatment plan, based on what YOU are dealing with. Hang tight, keep breathing, and, again, get on some anti-anxiety meds.

I had my biopsies about 10 hours ago. I have 2 masses found. One is 5 cm, the other 2 cm. Waiting for results. I have never felt so weak and tired. Can barely walk 10 steps. Just want to sleep. I think it’s a combination of emotional stress, along with the bodies reaction to the procedure.

I hope you can get some good rest, it sounds like your body wants sleep. I hope your pain is under control. Let us know how you feel tomorrow.

Thank you. Still tired, but not as much as yesterday. Still sore from the biopsies. Going crazy waiting. It’s been 4 years since my last mammogram. This of course, has me nervous and thinking the worst. Hoping I hear tomorrow, or Friday at the latest.
