hi everybody! I'm sure I'm just freaking out but my mom just got a stage 1 diagnosis after being persistent when the doctors told her that her painful lump was nothing (her sister also had breast cancer)

I found a suspicious lump in September 2016. First mammo was just before that in April and came back all clear. Among many other cysts the one I could feel came back as 1.42x1.2x1.1cm birad 4.

Core bipsy completed taking 3 samples. Came back benign as prominent histiocytes, chronic and accute inflammation and fibrosis.

6 month follow up - mammo and ultrasound. Lump is now 9x6x7 mm, along with other cysts as before.

2nd 6 month follow up - mammo and ultrasound. They ultrasounded both breasts finding numerous cysts throughout both. Lump in question though is now 5mm (that's all it says)

Back to yearly screening.

So if I'm reading correctly the lump is getting smaller, but I still freak out because I can still feel it. Now I'm even more concerned as my mom was just diagnosed. I've asked about getting second opinions and my family doctor does not think it's necessary after reviewing the reports. What do you guys think? Is it just going g to take time for the lump to go away? Am I making myself crazy for nothing? Should I have pushed for second opinion? Or should I wait to see what my next screening in September says?
