I was diagnosed 2014 had double mastectomy. Chemo. Cane back 2015, in lymph nodes, same side. Had chemo and radiation. came back 2017 had another lymphectomy. Doc wants to do another round of chemo. I said no. Waiting on my PET scan results tomorrow.

    Dear cmiracle, l'm so sorry it came back. But I hardly unterstand how this happened. There are so many treatment options for TPs. I guess you got Herceptin and you have been on antihormonals?

    Sorry you are dealing with another recurrence. Unfortunately, it does happen. Some cancers have a couple cells that are resistant to the treatments and grow new tumors. I have a local friend that it has happened to multiple times, but it has always stayed in the nodes, and has not spread to bones or organs, so it is considered manageable. Perhaps you could get a few opinions. Ask each time what they recommend and WHY they recommend it. That will help you to make the best decision for you. The goal is to keep it from becoming metastatic.
