Ovarian removal

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 36 while six months pregnant with my second child. Had lumpectomy, sixteen rounds of chemo and radiation. My oncologist put me on an AI since I was in chemopause and then Lupron shots when my estrogen levels went back up. The Lupron didn't work for me so now I'm on tamoxifen. My oncologist wants me to have my ovaries removed so that I can go back on an AI. I am negative for the genetic tests but do have a gene for blood clots. I'm really struggling with this decision: am scared of cancer returning but it sounds like having ovaries out comes with it's own set of problems. Anyone have any advice or stories to share? Thanks

Panda- I don’t have much advice, just that I get it. I’m also not ready to lose my ovaries, but I am doing the Lupron plus the Tamoxifen. I’m guessing they want you off Tamoxifen because of increased risk of blood clots? Yes, the ovaries do more than just make estrogen, but women have them out all the time. I hope someone who has can chime in with their experience. Sorry you have to make a sucky decision like this. Hoping the best for you.
