Possible mets to lung after treatment
I went through chemo, radiation, lumpectomy and double mastectomy for er+pr-her2+ stage 2a gade 3 IDC. I finished all treatments in march 2017.
May I was admitted to the hospital for a partially collapsed lung. On the x-ray they saw 2 tiny spots. The pulminologist recommended another x-ray 6 months later. After that x-ray, he said their are some changes. I'm going in on the 28th (tomorrow ) for a ct.
Has anyone had lung mets spread via bloodstream?
I'm so nervous and scared.

I hope you do not get a bad report tomorrow. Mine did spread by bloodstream. The idc was so tiny at the time..5 years ago, bilateral mastectomy was supposed to put me in the 99% cured. Those recommendations changed shortly afterward. I had 50 lung mets 2 years later. But on a good note, they responded to chemo and Herceptin and Perjeta. Please let us know how your appointment goes. Wishing you the best

I'm also hoping that they are benign nodules Queen. Unfortunately, the cancer can spread through the blood stream. I was originally diagnosed in 2001 with Stage IIA, only one lymph node with micrometastasis but I did have a lot of vascular invasion. A year ago (my CT was also on December 28th!) I was diagnosed with a right pleural effusion. I didn't seem to have any nodules in the lung, just cells in the pleural lining. I also have it in my bones and now, in my peritoneum.
Hopefully your report will be good news but, as Beatmon mentioned, for those of you that are HER+ Herceptin is a powerful drug that can give you many progression free years.
Sending positive thoughts your way.

Sorry, it has taken me forever to respond. My pulminologist and oncologist suggested we retest in 6 months before a diagnosis is given.
The CT scan picked up my uterus enlargement. My oncologist sent me to an gynecologist oncologist. My uterus is 9.6 cm larger than average and the endometrial lining uneven. Inside there was very tiny free space. So, I had a D&C hysteroscopy with byopsy and uterine ablation. I get those results on February 13th.

Hello Queen
That sounds like a promising result re your lung. You'll see from my profile that my stats are very similar to yours. Six years ago I had sarcoidosis - and tiny pulmonary embolisims. The docs thought they could be lung mets at the time. A scan six months later showed no mets at all. It's not always cancer!
Hoping for the same for you.
Alice
Good luck with the downstairs department. That could turn out to have a benign cause too.
