This is the report. Does anyone understand this? It sounds like the clip isn't in the ideal place, and I'm not sure what localization under MRI is. Does it mean it has to be done again if the lump is malignant? Plus, I was told a marker the size of a sesame seed or rice would be inserted, now I find out that a clip twice the size and a different shape was put in. I've sent a message to the NP but I doubt if it will be read before the New Year. Thanks in advance for any responses.

PROCEDURE: BREAST MAMMOGRAM LEFT

HISTORY: Post-MRI biopsy clip placement

FINDINGS:

CC and MLO views of the left breast demonstrating a V shaped clip in the
lower outer quadrant in the middle third

IMPRESSION:

1. V SHAPED BIOPSY MARKING CLIP SLIGHTLY MEDIAL THAN ANTICIPATED. IF
THE FINDING IS MALIGNANT, LOCALIZATION UNDER MRI IS RECOMMENDED. IF THE
RESULTS ARE BENIGN, FOLLOW-UP MRI IN 3 MONTHS IS RECOMMENDED FOR CLIP CHECK.
