Hello,

Has anyone else experienced their original biopsy being estrogen positive, only to find out after surgery their hormone receptors changed? I completed 4 DD AC and 4 DD Taxol treatments, followed by bilateral mastectomy a few weeks ago for IDC in my left breast. I was 20 some percent estrogen positive before surgery, now informed at my last MO visit that surgery pathology says I'm now triple negative. I am going to start radiation in a couple of weeks and after that my MO recommends additional chemo possibly - he is going to consult with another MO and decide what I'll be taking. There were a couple of questionable nodes highlighted on pre-chemo PET/Cat scan, but three Sentinel nodes taken during surgery showed no cancer. At my MO visit the other day I almost cried when he said I'll possibly be having additional chemo. He mentioned a medicine that I cannot remember because my mind went blank and then I heard Xeloda. I've been trying to read about triple negative chemo and found the medicine Carboplatin - I wonder if I will have to do this, in addition to Xeloda? The reason I think I'll have to do both is because I blurted out "will I lose my hair" (which is funny because it's just started to grow back and I hardly have any) and he said possibly. Xeloda doesn't cause hair loss does it?
