Seen mammogram today. Questions

so read mammogram today said a papilloma with moderate risk of malignancy due to vascularity of papilloma and some calcification in the area. My BS had another rad read it and he is certain the calcification are not worrisome so back to the vascularity of the papilloma this is why first rad thinks malignant. Anyone ever hear of a papilloma with blood flow

    Hi Roller. I have not heard of that. I had a regular old papilloma removed when I had my lumpectomy and the doctors didn't seem concerned about it at all. Here's what I've found on the possible link to cancer but it is considered benign:

    Intraductal papillomas generally don't increase the risk of developing breast cancer. However, when an intraductal papilloma contains atypical cells (cells which are abnormal but not cancer), this has been shown to slightly increase the risk of developing breast cancer in the future.
