Frozen section of excisional biopsy...

I am literally crumbling from the anxiety of waiting for pathology results!

I had a wire localized excisional biopsy on Friday. My surgeon did a frozen section on several slices during surgery and those came back benign. She said we have to wait for pathology of the entire mass before we will know for sure as that is just a small sample and not used as a diagnostic report.

Results were supposed to be back in 48-72 hours. I called Wednesday afternoon and they were not in.

The wait is killing me and I keep holding onto all hope that the frozen sections were accurate, but I'm starting to lose hope with the length of time that passes.

Yesterday I had to leave work because the stress is causing my heart rate to go crazy and I was physically ill from the stress.

I have my follow up Thursday to check the incision and I'm so nervous that I'm going to get the worst case scenario handed to me.

Has anyone had a frozen section done at the time of surgery? Was it accurate?
