Returning to work after excisional biopsy

I had a wire localization and excisional biopsy yesterday. My surgeon removed about a golf ball size of volume from my breast and I am pretty sore this morning.

I teach (elementary school level) and took Monday off based on her recommendation. She advised that I take it slow going back because of the activity level and that I may need even more time than that (depending on how quickly recovery goes).

I'm feeling pretty sore and groggy right now but wondering how quickly you all turned the corner and started feeling somewhat back to normal?

For those that have had this done, when were you able to return to work?

Hafdozen...when I had my first excisional biopsy, they removed a golf ball size section, as well. I was told to take three days off of work, which I did. I worked a job that was quite physical, so I was a little sore. You should be okay to return on Tuesday, but you know your body, so listen to it. You may have to take an additional day or two off. Best of luck to you!

Thanks for the reply biscuit! I Went back today and I was exhausted, but the kiddos did a great job of keeping my mind off things (they know I was out for medical reasons but not anything specific).

No news from path report yet so mentally it was a hard day. I should know something tomorrow. I'm just afraid I will break down in from of these little guys and I don't want to do that!
