Breast Cyst Refilled within 48 Hours - Normal?
Hi & back again so soon... I had a large (infected) (apparently) breast cyst aspirated 2 days ago, is it usual for them to refill so quickly? If it is, I guess I’ll have to live with it but it’s a large hard lump (as always was) so quite uncomfortable in my small breasts... Any cyst advice hugely appreciated! Thanks.

If it was infected, I'd be concerned that it refilling so fast means that the infection is still present; it's definitely worth calling your doctor about to let them know what happened and see what they say.

Hi KSK,
I had my first large cyst (that I knew of) drained in my physician's office and it was back to full size by the same night. By the time I went to my mammo and ultrasound appointment 2 days later it was clearly visible. In the office he removed almost 8 cc of dark brown fluid into a syringe and sent to pathology. I was relieved to see the results as "old apocrine cells", or dead fat cells. Eventually that cysts decreased some and I still feel the casing with some fluid flattened out somewhat... among the many others in my left breast that were not there before.
As with any lump, bump or change its best to get it checked out and call the office. My doctor warned me it would probably come back even though he drained it :-(
I hope you are doing well by now.

seraphim143,
So even though your cyst has been drained, you can still feel it? Sorry I just found out I apparently have "fibrocystic changes". They have never bothered me and ultrasound didnt find anything. I was so happy to hear that that I forgot to ask what it is that I felt then.
It literally feels like what i would have imagined a green grape sized cyst to feel like if all the water were removed, almost like a deflated balloon.

seraphim143 I know you posted quite a while ago but I’m curious about your cyst symptoms? Did you have any pain associated with it? Did you have nipple discharge? I’m dealing with both right now. I hit my breast pretty hard on accident with the end of the vacuum cord and since then it’s been painful in that spot and today noticed dark green almost brownish discharge out of that nipple if I squeezed hard enough. Would love some feedback! I haven’t been to the doctor ye
