can anyone help me figure out this report.

My sister and Mom both have breast cancer and this report has me wondering what’s next.

Atypical lobular hyperplasia, with duct involvement.

Adenosis with micro calcifications

Deeper sections examined.

What does this mean?

busytoday, I would encourage you to schedule an appointment with your doctor to discuss this pathology report. Basiclly, ALH is a b9 condition that can convey an increased risk for bc, so there are potential implications for your imaging/monitoring plan. You should discuss all of your potential risk factors together and what your plan with be for future monitoring. Your doctor may recommend that you see a specialist to have this discussion, or you may want to consult one for a second opinion.

Thank you for your reply. I am seeing a breast surgeon next week.

Looking back at my mri from a few months ago, and it reads...

The left breast demonstrates mild background parenchyma enhancement and is heterofenously dense. A small T2 bright intramammary lymph node is present in the 1 o’clock position of the left breast posterior depth. There is no skin thickening . No nodal enlargement is present. There is a T2 bright non enhancing cyst seen wi5in the medial margin of the breast at the patients palpable abnormality marked by a vitamin E capsule measuring approximately 10x5 mm. There is no skin thickening. T1 hyperintense ducts are seen within the retroareolar breast. Was something brewing a few months ago that should have been looked into
