    Low platelets due to neukine shots anybody? My mom had platelets 1.6 and wbc3500. Doctor advised one neukine shot. She is due for her CBC blood test on Monday. I was Wonder is there any impact of neukine on platelet counts? Because her platelet level was so marginal

    Low platelets would be caused by chemo, not by the white blood cell generating neukine injection. This is common, and if low platelets threated to delay treatment your mom can receive a platelet infusion. Platelets are very mercurial and the shortest-lived blood cell, only 5 day survival, so they are constantly turning over and counts can vary widely just a few days apart.
