What is Micropapillary Hyperplasia?

The NP read the results to me, but said the doctor would call me on Monday to discuss. She said, "it's not cancer." The more I read, the less I understand:

Here's what it says:

  • Atypical lobular hyperplasia
  • Micropapillary hyperplasia
  • Micro calcifications

I have figured out the first and third ones, but have not found an instance where micropapillary and hyperplasia are words that are used together.

I can find micropapillary carcinoma - pretty bad

Any idea what this means?

    Dear mgogo,

We are sorry that this confusion has led you here but glad that you reached out. It is tough to get test results without a medical explanation of what they mean. It is especially difficult to wait over a weekend. We would suggest that you allow your own doctor to further explain your results and pose your questions to him or her and try not to figure this out on your own. It can lead to further worry which may not be necessary. Keep us posted. The Mods
