Hello all,

I am posting on behalf of my mom, who recently had mastectomy with ALND. Here is what I see from pathology report:

Tumor size: 3cm*3cm*1cm

Grade: 3

Node: 0/18

Lymphovascular invasion: +

ER: +

PR: +

HER2: - (FISH)

Ki-67: 30%

No Oncotype dx test done.

Anyone out here who has similar diagnosis? Can you share your treatments? Thanks!

It’s good that you’re helping gather information for your mom! My situation was not exactly the same but I can offer a few thoughts. Recently, more people are having chemo prior to surgery however that did not happen for her.

Signs of the cancer invading the lymph or blood vessels is probably the biggest concern as far as I can tell. Nothing showing up in the nodes is a relief however a few nasty cells might have escaped so systemic therapy would hopefully knock those out. Not sure whether any radiation treatment would be useful.

I had a regimen of taxotere/cyclophosphamide IV every three weeks. Lost hair however did OK otherwise. No rads for me due to the reconstruction having taken place. Going on 7 years since diagnosis...

    Thanks a lot vlnrph.

First of all, congrats on 7 years achievement and I wish you a very very long and healthy life!

Yes, LVI is for sure a big concern, along with grade 3. As a result, our doctor did not even consider ordering Oncotype test, and suggested chemo + hormonal therapy. Rads was not recommended due to mastectomy and negative nodes.

The regimen suggested was FEC x 3 - D x 3. I don't see it is offered widely in US, while it is quite common in countries like Canada, UK, etc. I hope it is not under or over treatment for my mom.

    Thanks again.
