High Alkaline Phosphate Level
My ALP has been steadily rising. A few months ago it was 217, My onc said nothing. My PCP did blood for my physical and it was 255. She had me retake it today to make sure it was not a fluke. The nurse called tonight and said it was 277. The have ordered a fibroscan of the liver and a bone scan. My liver enzymes are also elevated. Could this be a sign of liver or bone mets

Hi Lori, you must be so worried! Are you on any treatment now? When do you have the scans? Good luck.
-
No, I have been good for 5 years. I have to schedule a liver fibroscan and a bone scan. I am a bit freaked. I haven't seen any posts with the number as high as mine
-
hi Lori, I would be freaked out too. Sounds like your dr is being very thorough which is good. All the best
-
Scan are scheduled: December 1st for Bone Scan / December 5th for Liver Scan. Sanxiety till then!
-
Wow Lori. We'll be waiting for the results right here with you. The fact that your numbers are rising so rapidly might suggest an infection or virus even though you feel well. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

could be fatty liver... any stomach discomfort
-
Hoping it is just fatty liver or medications causing it. Keep us pisted
-
Thank you everyone. I do have a fatty liver and I have had stomach pain. I went and looked at past results and they have been steadily rising for awhile ... 171, June - 217, August - 243, November 20 - 255, November 24 - 277
-
Lori, by now you will have had your scans. Have you received any results? Thinking of you
-
The bone scan was clean. Still waiting on liver results. Saw the GI doctor, he ordered more blood work - 6 vials worth. No reults yet. Thank you for asking. I will keep you posted
-
Glad the bone scan was clean. Hoping the same for the others.

My mom's ALP rose dramatically. Since she is a breast cancer survivor also, we were all terrified. She had very high numbers.
But, the doctor first cut out her cholesterol pill and bam, within a month they had dropped dramatically. After a few months, her ALP returned to normal.
Wishing you all the best!
-
hi Lori, how did you go with the liver tests
