Philadelphia/NYC Recommendations

Anyone willing to recommend an Onocologist plus Plastic surgeon team for Mastectomy in the Philadelphia/NYC region? and why?

I'm in Philly! I haven't started hormone therapy yet but I already like my oncologist. He's with Jefferson Abingdon..name is Dr. Sundermeyer. Very personable. I can tell we will get on well.

My breast surgeon, if you need a rec there, is Dr. Jennifer Simmons. She's the head of breast surgery at Einstein. She works with either Vivian Hsu or George Zavitsanos. Right now I am going with Dr. Zavitsanos but a little nervous because he's been discouraging me from getting an instant implant, which is what I decided I want to do.

I'm getting surgery on Tuesday.

Here in Philly, we're very lucky. We have REALLY good cancer centers. Penn, Jefferson, and Fox Chase are all in the top ranked cancer centers in the country.

As for NYC--Memorial Sloan Kettering is there and is very good.

I’ve had my treatments done through the St. Mary Medical Center/Holy Redeemer healthcare system. My Oncologist is Dr. Robert Reilly and Plastic Surgeon is Dr. William Scarlett. Both are in Bensalem, absolutely wonderful and made my experience so much less stressful than it could have been.
