edited November 2017 in Waiting for Test Results

Finally got a copy of the initial MRI that was done on November 3rd. Clearly won't have the biopsy results yet since that was just yesterday, but I finally understand what they were biopsying yesterday. Thoughts?

FINDINGS:

Amount of fibroglandular tissue: Scattered.

Background parenchymal enhancement: Mild, symmetric. Right Breast:

There is no abnormal enhancement concerning for malignancy. There is no otherwise significant abnormality.

Left Breast:

At left anterior breast centrally just posterior to the nipple line best seen on image 125, is an 8 mm focus oflinear nonmass enhancement with suspicious washout characteristics on color map. At left anterior 6:00 best visualized on image 137, is a similar 8 mm focus of linear nonmass enhancement with suspicious washout pattern. No other suspicious findings are identified in the left breast.

Lymph nodes: No pathologically enlarged lymph nodes are identified. Other findings: None.

IMPRESSION:

BI-RADS Category 4-Suspicious Abnormality.

RECOMMENDATION:

Biopsy should be considered. 8 mm nonmass enhancement at left central breast and 8 mm noncontrast enhancement at left 6:00 appear accessible for MR guided needle biopsy. These findings on MRI may relate to patient's history of bloody nipple discharge. Any further management for that symptom should also be clinically determined.
