edited November 2017 in Waiting for Test Results

hi everyone,

iam 35 yrs old with a long history of papillomas and cysts in left breast. I have been having ultrasounds every 6 months and mammograms once every two years. last lumpectomy was in 2014 left breast with removal of ducts due to calcification.

last ultrs sound was in june 2017.

mother diagnosed with breast cancer at 38 years old, again at 42 and third time at 47 years old. she is still here with me thank god to that every day.

so i started of with what seemed to be a tiny pin prick sore on my left upper outer breast, i didnt think much of it as there was no lump or any reason for me to think a insect bite. every week it began to grow, so went to dr placed me on abs, oral and oitment. not hekping. it began to grow bigger it is now the size of a 20c coin. so off to ultra sound i went. on examination of imaging, a mass was found deep in breast with high blood flow. biopsy was ordered which i had done yesterday. radiologist started with FNB but was only getting cells, he then informed me that i needed Core biopsies instead.

sorry about the long story lol.

so here is my question,

how long does it usually take for results? and why was the core nessessary?

i am also positive for braca gene, and have been on wait and watch lymphoma for 5 years.
