What is an appropriate wait time for a diagnostic work up?

Hi,

A few months ago I found a small, hard, non moveable lump in my right breast close to my armpit. I have fibrocystic breasts so although this lump felt very different I gave it some time to go away.

Today at the doctors she did a breast exam and called in a diagnostic breast workup. She said it would be an ultrasound, a mammogram, and a biopsy same day if I needed it. She told me to call right away today.

Once I called they told me that the earliest I could be seen was December 4th. We are a military family and this is the only treatment facility nearby that offers what I need.I called the doctor to let her know and she said that the wait time is okay. Is a month long wait truly acceptable, or should I push this issue further?

I have no other clinic options to chose from since we are in Hawai‘i and can’t just drive elsewhere. Thank you for any advice
