Diabetes or Thyroid issues post cancer diagnosis?

I am just curious if anyone has gone on to have Type 2 diabetes or thyroid issues since beginning cancer treatment? Once I did chemo, my blood sugar according to lab results has always run a little high. Now with the weight gain from all the drugs I would guess that I could be pre-diabetic or maybe even Type 2. I just don't feel like my metabolism is working anymore since I am now menopausal because of all the drugs. Just curious if anyone else is having issues with blood sugars, thyroid and metabolism?

Thanks!

yes, my mom was diagnosed with type 2 after being on a certain medication- I believe it was affinitor- known to elevate blood sugar. She has always been a healthy weight l, and so it was surprising. The diabetes has been under control and she takes a pill for it.

My mom was shortly diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 right after she was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer. In fact it was caught on by her oncologist when she went for her blood test. The blood sugar level was extremely high that he called and asked me to bring my mom to the clinic to get checked for diabetes.

It is very common for patients to have their blood sugar run high on the day of chemo due to pre-meds.

My mom takes medication for her diabetes and it is under control. But on the day of chemo, it is still slightly elevated but the blood sugar levels go back to normal the day after chemo.
