Radiation and implants?

So, I'm still deciding between implants and DIEP. I was pretty set on DIEP, but then my (non-plastic) surgeon recommended against it bc of potential core strength issues.

But anyways, I was talking to a few women in my support group, and it looks like implants may not work well with radiation? My treatment schedule has radiation after surgery and reconstruction, but it seemed like there could be issues with symmetry when radiation was involved, possibly bc of tissue changes.
