Are all bone lesions cancer? Anyone's benign?

Options

Hi everyone...A recent CT scan (yesterday) picked up a micro lesion on my iliac bone. My primary care doc sent all test results to my onc and I'm waiting for his call. I'm concerned, but trying not to be until more info is available. Has anyone here had a similar situation and found the lesion to be benign? I just saw my onc for annual appointment. All blood work was normal. Any thoughts/similar experiences/hopeful words would be appreciated. THANK YOU.

I'm asking myself the same question right now! I had a 1cm lesion found a few weeks ago on an MRI that was concerning for mets. I had a bone biopsy and waiting for results. They tell me there are other things it could be, but I'm not confident that anyone seriously expects it to be anything other than cancer.

    Hello AZ and Hammie

I had something similar to this. A spot on a bone scan.

The docs rescanned six months later. Turned out to be nothing more than natural bone repair. Not cancer.

Hoping for the same or similar for you both!

I had a spot on my T1 vertebrae after an MRI that was confirmed by a bone scan to be a hemangioma, which is a common benign tumor that often gets picked up incidentally as it is usually asymptomatic. My neck pain , for which I had the MRI in the first place, is arthritis. Hoping you have clear results from your biopsy, azs40.

I had a bone lesion on T2 that also turned out to be a hemangioma. Hoping the same for you!

Thank you for your replies! Does anyone know what a bone "artifact" is? My onc mentioned the possibility of this...
