Whats going on with Teva's Anastrozole?

Options

I managed to get my brick & mortar pharmacy to get Teva's Anastrozole for me about 6-7 months ago. Since I noticed fewer side effects, when pharmacy said they couldn't get it, I managed to have the mail order pharmacy send me 90 days. I just tried to refill the Rx. Neither the mail order or any of the local brick & mortar pharmacies have the Teva brand. All say it is on back order. Sent Teva and email and will call them next week. Anyone else having trouble getting the Teva brand? This is so frustrating

Yes, I am as well. Always had fewer side effects with Teva's Anastrozole over the last 5 years - just entering my 6th year. Was so disappointed when my local Walgreen's couldn't get it for me about 5 months ago. Then switched to COSTCO and got Accord. I've called several pharmacies, and none have Teva right now. All I can figure is the prices went up for their brand.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for starting this post!

I was told that there was a problem at the manufacturer. Fortunately, for me, the Accord has less side effects. Could it be that there is more demand since Teva has been suggested so much on this site? Just a thought.

I called Kaiser pharmacy yesterday and they said it was on back order.

I had the pharmacist e-mail my onc to let them know that it's on back order because he/she might want to start me on another brand,

    I quit taking the aromasin,

Mayne bought TEVA earlier this year. Production of TEVA will continue by TEVA and be distributed by Mayne, for now. Look at the numbers printed on your pills. Those are unique identifiers of manufacturer, composition, etc. It has not changed.

I just called my pharmacy again. I explained that some women in my support group were also having problems with getting The Teva Anastrozole.

She has seen this happen before with other drugs., and that the manufacturer can't keep up with the orders if it's a popular drug.

Mine will be in stock on Nov.10th according to her notes.

Teva and some of the other pharma manufacturers have been busy buying each other and eliminating or rebranding their generics. You'll see this discussion in the Tamoxifen threads as well.

I just renewed my Anastrozole. I was getting Teva before in 3 month supplies. I have been on it 6 months so two times I had Anastrozole prescription for 3 months each.

Today, when I renewed my Anastrozole they gave me only 10 days of Sandoz anastrozole. The other 80 days are backordered. I hope not for more than 10 days!

I am in Canada by the way.

Hi I'm in the UK and after three month on Teva my pharmacy can't get it. I'm on a brand called Morningside I've never heard of. It's clearly a problem everywhere not just UK. .

The mail order I thought was Teva., was only to tell me it won't be in until Dec. 8th.

A number of the pharmaceuticals supplied to the US are manufactured in Puerto Rico which, of course, is still nowhere near back to normal following this summer's hurricanes. I don't know if Teva has been affected by this but wouldn't be surprised if that's adding to any existing shortages.

I realize this is an old thread, but is anyone else currently having trouble getting their hands on Teva anastrazole? I’ve tried the Accord brand and it just didn’t agree with me. It looks like I’m going to have to try Natco brand next. Anyone have experience with that one? I thought they had ongoing issues in their supply chain at Teva, but the pharmacy tech told me that the Teva brand was pulled. Can’t find any info on a recall.

yes my pharmacy has said the same thing. I was supposed to get a ninety supply. They only had 30 on hand. They said it’s on back order. No one seems to have it anywhere. And yes a problem with the manufacturer.
