I have not posted frequently, but I have read this forum avidly since being diagnosed with lung, lymph node, and liver mets in August. You have all been a constant source of hope and inspiration for me over the past weeks.

I started TDM1 treatment, but the doctors were not particularly optimistic that it would be effective given that the four types of chemo we had already tried in the neoadjuvant setting had little or no effect. When I pressed them to give me a sense of survival time frame, they told me that based on their experience if we didn't find a successful treatment soon, I could be looking at a few short months.

Yesterday, I had a PET-CT scan done and the results are amazing! The cancer in the lymph nodes and liver appears to be resolved. There is no sign of it on the scan. There is only one remaining nodule in my lung, and it is significantly reduced. I will be staying on TDM1 until it stops working.

While I've been doing pretty well with living happily day to day, this evidence of the effectiveness of treatment gives me a sense of being on a longer time line. I am so thankful for all of you who have helped me learn how to live with this disease. Without you, the last couple of months may have been miserable. Instead, I feel I've lived them well and I'm ready to continue on living well. Thank you!
