edited October 2017 in High Risk for Breast Cancer

I was deemed high-risk and started my annual MRI screening in addition to yearly mammograms. Needless to say they found something on my MRI. I met with a breast surgeon, had a biopsy and I'm hoping to speak to the breast surgeon tomorrow about the biopsy results. When I met with him, he couldn't get the image up on the computer and I have not actually seen what the MRI showed. The MRI stated "1.2 irregular non Mass enhancement at 6:00 with Associated apparent Distortion and diffuse restriction. This demonstrates mix contrast kinetics with washout".

The breast surgeon stated that it was something we just had to figure out what it was. Last week I had an MRI guided core biopsy which went fine. It was pretty posterior so I was thankful they were even able to do the mri biopsy. The radiologist was confident that he got a sample. I called the next day. Results that it was not cancer yay! But then I started to think about what the breast surgeon said, that we could sample one area but miss cancer cells or abnormal cells in another area. The radiologist called me on Monday and told me that he was surprised that it was nothing.

The radiologist wants me to get a mammogram next week followed up with an MRI in 3 months. The breast surgeon had said if it was benign we would wait 6 months. Is it odd that it was absolutely nothing? Any help before I speak with the breast surgeon tomorrow would be great. Thank you so much for the support and all the knowledge that I have read the last two days on this site!
