Long Term Fatigue and Pain

Options

Hello ladies!

I finished 18 weeks of the Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin "triple cocktail" at the end of May, but am still doing a triple-dose of Herceptin every 3 weeks until January. Also on Tamoxifen since May. The past couple of months I have been absolutely miserable. Joint stiffness, muscle pain, sore throat, sore skin, brain fog and absolutely crippling fatigue. My PCM is concerned, but my oncologist rolls his eyes and says my labs are "fine". I'm not fine. Before diagnosis, I ran 3-6 miles a day, hiked, biked, worked a demanding professional job, managed a household, traveled for work, volunteered, and had a social life. Now I can barely eek out a half day at work and 30 minutes of yoga. I know this isn't just in my head - but I literally can't keep my eyes open during the day, that's how exhausted I am all the time.

Anyone else??

Fatigue can last for years, not just months. I had extreme fatigue for two years, it lessened in year three post chemo, and got a lot better in year 5 which I was not expecting. My sister who is now 2 years out from chemo, finally is not feeling so fatigued. It is one, long process.
