edited October 2017 in High Risk for Breast Cancer

Hello everyone. I am new to this group so please let me know if I am not posting this in the correct area.

First a little about me. I am 31 years old. I am considered by my GYN to be high risk of breast cancer from family history (paternal aunt diagnosed at 37 years old and passed away at 42, sister diagnosed with stage 2b at 44 years old, and mother had lumpectampy for DCIS 58 years old) combined with a variant of TP53 genetic mutation that they are still unsure of its significance. Because of this he sent me to a breast surgeon for screening. The surgeon suggested I have a MRI and ultrasound as a screening. To my surprise they did find some things on both and are performing a biopsy this week on 2 areas. I am so confused over the wording on the report and the surgeon didn't offer too much information yet. I am hoping you ladies could help explain the results and offer any suggestions, experience or advice. I am so incredibly anxious for the biopsy and ultimate results. I am copying the findings below, it won't allow me to paste an image of the report so I will just type the summary. Thank you so much for any insight.

MRI: left breast; Inspissated proteinaceous material is seen anteriorly within the. Ready. There is a 6 mm focus of enhancement centrally within the breast. There is also non mass enhancement measuring 1 cm in the 1:00 axis , posteriorly

Ultrasound: left breast; 5:00 position retroareolar region: 6mm hypoechoic nodule inseparable from a duct.

I have had a recent mastectomy, and I have to say that from Ultrasound to MRI to biopsies' pathology, it is enough to drive one insane with confusing and controversial reports. Not sure how we can trust these reports and how physicians go about reading them, but it is extremely frustrating to be placed in such situation as a patient. Has other patient gone through the same as I with various reports NOT matching???
