A question for you ladies who have had fat grafting: I am scheduled Monday November 13 for fat grafting from my belly to cover some ripples and the top edges of the implants. Do you think I'll be ok to take my daughter on a college overnight trip that Friday? (4 days later). I wouldn't be driving but it's a 3 hour drive each way, or we could stay overnight in a hotel and drive back the next day. What was your experience?

I have had fat grafting a number of times, and I would say it is dependent on several factors. Will you be doing a lot of walking? Will you be wearing compression? How do you handle anesthesia? Do you have a high pain threshold? Also, the pain is proportional to the amount of fat harvested. My experience is that I felt pretty beat up, and I was comfortable if I was still, uncomfortable as I initiated movement, but not as painful once I got moving. I had abdomen and hips/flanks as donor sites, I did wear compression, and it felt like I had done 1,000 sit-ups, for about a week or so. I had no pain at the graft site. For me the discomfort was soreness, but not enough to medicate with narcotics.

I just had fat graphing done 10/9. And I had it all from abdomen area. I think I had a lot done?? I think at least. Day 2/3 I highly suggest good pain meds.. Day 4 I was off everything. I completely agree with SpecialK. Feel like 1000 situps.. very very sore.. Today is day 9, And I am still very sore in belly. They went in thru belly button and left and right groin area. Just a staple removed Monday from each site. I will have fat graphing again in 3 months.

thanks guys. I'm planning activities that can be cancelled if necessary for days 4 and 5 postop.

As far as feeling like I've done 1000 sit ups, I have no way of knowing what that would feel like!!
