pain when inhaling

For one week, I have noticed when I take deep breaths I feel a tightness and burning in my windpipe and upper chest. No cough, no rattling, no mucus, or any other symptoms. My oxygen levels and tumor markers were normal as of a month ago at my last onc visit.

I am trying to figure out what it could be. I am at high risk of mets (see my stats below) so that is always a huge worry and not just me overreacting.

Has anyone had this symptom and found it was due to anxiety/stress, or radiation damage of the lungs, or something non cancerous? I can rule out infection as I have no fever, aches, sinus problems, or anything like that. I am 6 months out from finishing 28 rads, which were on my left side.

Obviously I will follow the two week rule, but boy is this scaring me right now.

It looks like I could have this, since I had rads and a taxane chemo. Has anyone here had it?

it could be from any of the reasons you mentioned. I hope that it resolves. keep us pisted

I had radiation pneumonitis, unfortunately. I did have a dry cough with it, however. Check with your RO and let him/her know your symptoms. It's unusual, but it can happen.
