Hi I've just been diagnosed with bc and am in search of a surgeon in Albany NY area.

I went to one today that my PC recommended but I'm not sure that I really like the person. Plus I am seeking a second opinion as well.

How do I go about searching? Most stuff that pops up in online are ads.

TIA

Sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with BC - I was diagnosed June 16, had a lumpectomy w/sentinel node biopsy July 2016 at Memorial Hospital with Dr. Kelly Dennin as my surgeon (518) 449-1307 - her office is behind Memorial Hospital. She was awesome - a great surgeon, kind and compassionate and really listened to me and took time explaining everything to me. She does her surgeries at either Memorial or St Peter's. I chose Memorial for my first surgery because they had an opening a lot earlier than St. Peter's. I was apprehensive, but wanted it done asap - can't say enough about Memorial - everyone was fantastic, from the beginning to end. I did a lot of research and talked to many people before choosing Dr. Dennin - glad I did. She also did my bilateral mastectomy in Feb 2017 - that one I had done at St. Peter's - again she was amazing. I had immediate reconstruction by plastic surgeon Dr. Susan Gannon (518) 438-0505 who does many surgeries with Dr. Dennin - again much research and talking to people before choosing Dr, Gannon - who also was fantastic - had the same kindness, compassion, and open communication as Dr. Dennin. Happy to share any info I can with you. Albany has many great medical resources. It sucks to go thru this, but having a great medical team made it bearable.

Dr. Sharita Nagaraj , (518) 783-3110 was my breast surgeon. Dr. Susan Gannon was my plastic surgeon. Had surgery at St. Peter's Hospital. Both are wonderful , as was the hospital. All good outcomes. Going to NYOH for oncology. Very nice office staff and MD. Please feel free to pm me with any questions or concerns. This is tough to navigate. Hugs,Lark
