Hepatic cysts/liver cysts

Hi, my mom is breast cancer survivor, 3 years and counting. She just had her routine ultrasound and they found three hepatic cysts, all are less than 1cm. She dont have any signs and symptoms, and her liver enzymes are normal.The oncologists is concerned because he said it was three so they ordered ct scan. Kinda scared it was liver mets

It's not uncommon to have cysts on the liver. I have several of them that were found when I had a CT. At that time, the docs weren't sure if it was mets or cysts, so they ordered an abdomenal MRI to focus on the liver. Turns out they were just cysts, which was a relief!

I wouldn't be concerned just because there are 3. Cysts and mets look different on the more advanced tests. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the response. I am just really worried its a liver mets though she doesnt fewl anythin and all liver enzymes are normal too, it just seen acvidentally in the ultrasound as parr of her 6months checkup

I have multiple liver cysts were first seen on an abdominal CT that I had for GI problems before my BC diagnosis. My Gastroenterologist wasn't at all concerned about them and I have never had any additional imaging for them. Simple cysts don't look like mets on any imaging including ultrasound. It sounds like your mothers doctor is just being cautious but liver cysts are very common.

thank you @toomuch. Just so scared its liver mets because the way the doctor explained it seems like he is really concerned just because its 3 hepatic cyst.
