I'm having my first mammo since cancer last year tomorrow. I had a lumpectomy and radiation. I have a lot of scar tissue at and under the scar line and am worried what it's going to look like on the 3D mammo. It hurts daily so I know it won't be pleasant. Has anyone else had a mammo with lots of scar tissue and they ruled it out as not suspicious,? I'm a nervous wreck. My doctor said don't be alarmed if they want to do an ultrasound. Just super nervous for this day

Just had my 2nd post surgical mammogram this morni g (I am one year out from my left breast lumpectomy and radiation treatments 9 months out), scar tissue was found around my surgical area on left breast, following additional mammogram pictures and ultrasound, the technician and the radiologist are pretty certain that it is scar tissue and post radiation changes. The radiologist mentioned that this will probably be my new baseline in left breast. She has advised me to return in 3 months for another mammogram and ultrasound as she wants to be extra cautious. I will be on pins and needles until my Jan 2018 appointment, will keep myself busy with work and projects. I do think that if the Dr thought it was something more she would have wanted to do a biopsy today.
