Extreme exhaustion! Anyone else??

Options

Diagnosed in Feb. 4 surgeries in 5 months.

Ended up with skin saving bilateral mastectomy with expanders and then gummy bear implants. Couldn't take tamox, taking evista. All things considered it was all pretty straight forward treatment and recovery, so why am I so exhausted. I almost can't function, running on pure determination, I basically work and sleep, o and eat. Major cravings too. But mostly just this unrelenting exhaustion.

Is this common? Is my body still trying to heal? Anyone else??

    Hi Grammieshell!

We're so sorry you're dealing with this terrible side effect of breast cancer. In fact, it is very normal and very common to experience fatigue as a result of your breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. We're sure many others will be by shortly to weigh in with their thoughts and experiences, but in the meantime you may want to check out the main Breastcancer.org site's section on Managing Fatigue for lots of great advice on combating this debilitating side effect.

    We hope this helps!
