Excessive Facial Hair after chemo

I had my last chemo at the end of July.  My hair on my head is starting to grow, thicker on the sides than the top.  My eyebrows are growing and some eyelashes.  But goodness gracious I almost have a full beard.  I have always had some on my jaws but it goes all the way around my face across my chin.  It looks like a downy white beard.  I have read other places it goes away.  Anyone experienced this.  Going to my 50th high school reunion today with a beard and no boobs.

    Hi georgia67,

We're so sorry you're dealing with this unpleasant side effect. It's a little quiet around here on the weekends, but hopefully someone will be by soon to offer their experience and advice. In the meantime, you may also want to post in the Chemo forum to see if anyone else has experienced this.

    We hope this helps!

    Hi Georgia

So glad you are going to enjoy your reunion! Facial hair happens to a lot of us. It will eventually stop. In the meantime, I just shaved it off with a clean sharp razor. Poof! Gone! Lol

    Have fun at your reunion!

The same thing happened to me, as much peach fuzz on my face as on my head.  I don't know if it fell out or what but after 6 months or a year, I couldn't see it anymore.

My teenage grandsons said when I asked them, "Yeah, grandma, we weren't going to say anything in case you hadn't noticed it..." It DID go away, though!

"Going to my 50th high school reunion today with a beard and no boobs." Sorry I laughed, but, dang that is funny in a sad way, huh?
