Just curious how many cc's everyone gets at time of expander placement. Did your surgeon tell you how much the initial fill would be or it is more just wait and see how much can be done at the time?

My plastic surgeon said prior it will be a game time decision. I can't remember how many cc's he put in exactly but I woke up from my BMX with just two drains instead of four and filled to where I wanted to be. Helped with my psyche having volume there. Had only one fill since on left and one extra fill on right prior to radiation. I am glad the way it was done. Looking forward to my exchange when I heal from radiation as saying the expanders are uncomfortable would be the understatement of the year.

jnnmn, I had to do my recon in stages because of a large hematoma I developed after my lx (they were concerned I would develop more if they did too much at once). So I had the mx, then the TEs were placed (completely empty), then they slowly filled them for about 4 months, let them stabilize for another month before doing my exchange, then the final plastics work (so 5 surgeries, including the lx). I don't think I'm typical, but that's what happened with me.

My PS said it was not possible to predict this. I ended up with 240cc right after the TE placement, and it took 4 fills to get to 570cc.

200 cc at mx. One fill at 150. Ouch!
