Yes. There are solid masses that are benign. Do you have the report of the ultrasound that you can post? Let us know how the biopsy goes.

NanaPat - so sorry to hear about the bad news. You've come to the right place. You'll find lots of support here. So many of us have been in your shoes. What are your next steps? Do you have a follow up appointment with a surgeon or with an oncologist? The best thing to do is to get a plan in place for yourself. Once you have a plan of action, its easier to take things one step at a time. I know that the waiting is hard. Try to distract yourself before your next appointment. Without additional details about the tumor, its hard to know where to turn or what to do next. Did you receive a pathology report or any details about the profile of the cancer? That information will help everyone here on BCO to give you advice.
Sending prayers and gentle hugs your way.

Yes got the call yesterday it Is Cancer! a breast cooranator call said the are sending me To a DR Smith Behind the hospital So lost now

I'm so sorry that you are having to face this. It is a scary deal but really does get easier once you meet with oncologist and surgeon and have your plan in place. Not everyone has Stage 4 or a recurrence of cancer. Keep that in mind. Stay away from people who try to give you advice of which they have no true knowledge...like the asparagus cure and people who want to tell you gory stories.
Take a big deep cleansing breath and try to get some rest before your appointment. Try to take someone with you to take notes...it is hard to focus and remember what the Dr is telling you.
Best of luck and stay connected. There are some really great women on here that can help answer questions

I'm 61, post menopausal, I just had a mammogram and breast ultrasound today... 4cm mass is seen on left breast..so big. Will have a ultrasound core biopsy tomorrow morning. Completely racked with fear as I sit here. I have noother information at this time, no report yet...but had to post so that I"m doing something other than shaking like a leaf.

Barb, I realize how scared you must feel. The tests and waiting for results can feel overwhelming. Know that there is a good support system here if you find you need it. Sending caring thoughts your way and I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
-
Thank you so much Felicia..I appreciate your kind words and thoughts. Of course I'm thinking the worst because of the 4cm size. Have to hang in there and just move forward.. do whatever I need to, the anxiety now is just overwhelming.
-
Hi Barb~ The waiting is so difficult! By now, you might have some results and you can move forward. I hope so! If you are so inclined, let us know how you are doing by now.
