Hi there. Yes there are many women on this forum who take it. Some have side effects and some don't. Did you have the BRACA test? IMO taking Tamoxifen for ADH is overkill. Its a powerful drug that basically puts you into menopause. I would have regular 3D mammos, u/s and MRIs if you have dense breasts. I also would get a second opinion at a major university teaching hospital before I would take Tamoxifen prophylactically. Good luck and keep us posted...

I have been diagnosed with atypical lobular hyperplasia, with a mom who's survived BC twice. 1st oncologist recommends tamox , just back from 2nd opinion from doc at MSK in NYC who specializes in high risk, I asked what she'd do for herself, she says she'd take it and see how I react. I mentioned uterine cancer, she said low risk for my age, 48, occurs in much older women, she said 70. I mentioned blood clots, she said concern if obese, I am not. My internist is in favor of prevention. I am leaning toward trying it. As my friend said, you're going to go through menopause eventually anyway. It's scary, I don't take drugs lightly. Please let me know what you decide.
