It seems something went wrong with my first post so here it is one more time:

Hello everyone. I am very glad that I found this site. I have already learned so much from browsing the posts and comments.

Six months ago I had a mammogram performed because of unexplained under arm pain. I am 37 years old with no family history of breast cancer. They were unable to determine the cause of my pain but did spot microcalcifications on my right side. The recommendation I was given was to come back in six months for a follow up mammogram. Fast forward to last Friday...I went in for the follow up with no idea that there would be something to worry about. When the radiologist came in, she told me that there had been some change. The number of microcalcifications stayed the same but she described them as looking brighter. She ordered a biopsy and today is the big day. I am not going to lie. I am absolutely terrified.

To make my stress level even worse, Saturday, the day after getting the news of needing a biopsy, an uninsured driver hit my car after running a stop sign. The airbags in my car deployed and my car is a total loss. This week has certainly taxed my emotions.

One question that I cannot seem to find a clear answer to. How much out of pocket did your stereotastic biopsy cost. Unfortunately my health insurance deductible is $6000. I am very worried about the financial aspect of this, especially with the upcoming cost of replacing my car.

Thank you and I am praying, as we all do, for a b9 result

All my best wishes for your biopsy today. I just had mine 2 days ago and am waiting for results.

I was concerned about the cost as well since I have a similar deductible. I completely understand the financial burden only adding to the anxiety.

My insurance company's website has a fee estimator which gave me an idea of the range of costs of the procedure at providers (in-network) in my area. They varied quite a bit but it gave me a general idea of what I was looking at for costs in my city. It helped me to know that going in.

    Good luck today.
