I've posted here and there about my genetic testing story and then about my mammogram and MRI showing some spots of concern. I had two of three suspicious masses biopsied two days ago, the third is getting biopsied next week. I got the results of the first twotoday.

I was diagnosed with IDC, grade 3, triple negative. No staging info yet. My head is spinning. My "prophylactic" bilateral mastectomy turned out to be a breast cancer diagnoses. All I can think is WHAT THE HELL? I'm 29 years old, just celebrated my first wedding anniversary last week. Life is strange.

Wow - this sounds like my story. I'm BRCA1 positive and I went for a screening ultrasound a month before my scheduled prophylactic masectomy and they found a small area of concern. Originally my biopsy was scheduled for only a week before the surgery - but my surgeon was able to push it forward. So 2 weeks before my surgery, and less than a week ago, I was diagnosed with IDC and DCIS. I'm still shocked that this happened. I'm 39 with a 3 year and 10 month old children and just hoping that my (no longer prophylactic) masectomy is all the treatment I need.

I'm so, so sorry you're here, but you found the best place to be. It sucks, but This site is so resourceful. When I was first diagnosed, I actually held a grudge against the site, simply because I didn't want to hear the things that the members were saying. But, as time went on, I quickly realized that the information was so damn realiable and helpful. You have the support of everyone here. Wishing you all the best. You will win.

I'm so sorry you're here, too, but you have found a great place for advice/support/understanding. As I've said many times, I could not have made it through this journey without BC.org. I'm fairly new to the "club" as well.

Ask anything and everything. As you prep for surgery, there are lists here to make sure you are prepared. ETC.

    HUGS.
