Feeling like I am 80

Options

Hi warriors, I am two months out of chemo (AC + Taxol) and currently on my last week of radiation. When waking up in the am or after sitting for awhile, I feel a lot of stiffness in hands and pain in hips, legs and feet. I did not have this during chemo so wondering why now and also always worrying about possible more serious reasons. Did anyone else experience this and for how long? My MO seems to think it's related to Taxol. Which maybe it is but just wanted to see if others had this after treatment was completed. Thanks much!!

Hi, no not yet. I am having ovaries removed soon and then start on Armidex. I'm just hoping these aches and pains go away soon.

    Thanks

    Traci,

It took me at least 3 months to recover from the side effects of Taxol. Fatigue, joint issues, muscle weakness. I felt like my legs were encased in concrete.

The good news is that after those 3 months I started feeling normal again. I walk 2 to 3 miles a day and have even started running again.

Give yourself some time to recover. The radiation is probably contributing to the fatigue as well.

    Good luck.

    Trish
