Hi Lily2,
I thought I would reply to you. My wife was diagnosed with stage 3A, HER2+ BC in Feb this year at 36. I, like countless others, have spent hours upon hours trawling through forums, trial reports and god knows what else to seek answers and assurances.
She had a 4cm tumour and 3 lymph nodes affected. The results for number of lymph nodes affected where only gained following surgery.
She was TCHP for 6 cycles followed by surgery and is shortly to begin radiotherapy. She had a complete response via MRI after cycle 3 and went on to get a PCR!
To directly answer your question, she was also hormone negative
Cheers
Andy

I was very, very close to a pCR. My 4.6 cm tumor was reduced to 2- 2mm dots after 6 rounds of TCHP. My 1 positive lymph node was cleared with chemo and negative in SNB.
-
I was also VERY close to a pCR. My multiple tumors were reduced to what they called a very tiny "spatter" of cells left after chemo. The surgeon said it was as close to a pCR as you can get without calling it a pCR.

I had PCR and am 5 years out this week...knock on wood

First time posting on here! I received a PCR result after neo-adjuvant chemo + (R) mastectomy 12 days ago. Diagnosed at 34yo while pregnant to my 5th child and had to go through a medical abortion at 4mths and started chemo 2-3wk after that. PCR was the best news I’ve received all year although I do understand that there is still a chance of recurrence, I’ll take it and run with it. Glad to hear everyone achieved PCr!

I too had complete pathological response at time of mastectomy/w 2 lymph node involvement. Had chemo to shrink tumor before surgery as was not a candidate for surgery because of the size of tumor. Had a very quick response to chemo. Ended treatment with 33 radiation treatments, now on a year of Herceptin which ends in June of 18. So greatful to have these treatments! Currently cancerfree!

hello all, do you all think that it may be possible that my tumor shrunk and started to grow again in the period between chemo end and surgery. After chemo, I couldn't feel it anymore and it didn't really show on ultrasound imagining. Today, one week before surgery, I can feel it again. It is very small, but I wonder if it is possible that the mass started to grow again in 3 weeks post chemo. Maybe I am just freaking out ...
-
It is possible for the tumor to start to grow again. That's why surgery is scheduled no later than 8 weeks after finishing neoadjuvant chemo. But I don't know if it would grow in 3 weeks after chemo. Fortunately your surgery is next week. So if it is growing, it'll be removed soon anyway. Try not to worry.

I'm new to the cancer abbreviations. What is PCR?

Fabtastic4; What a horrible year for you. Im glad you finally had good news to celebrate.

I was 40% ER, PRneg and her2neu pos.
Tumor was 7cm, grade 3. Had pcr after neo adjuvant chemo.
Diagnose was november 2015

Thank you all for answers! I am post surgery now, awaiting pathology report, but there was no node involvement!
-
Thanks Jo6359! Hope things are going well for you.

Me! Just found out today that my Taxol is cancelled! I was to start Taxol and Herceptin on 3/2, but now it will just be Herceptin every 3 weeks for the rest of the year. 30 radiation treatments will start soon, too. Super pleased with my response to AC. AMAZING

I got Pcr despite being able to still physically feel my tumor!

That's wonderful news Aleksandra30!!!
