History of High grade DCIS now with 2 endometriomas on my ovary

Options

I was diagnosed with Intermediate grade DCIS in JUne 2016 after a stereotactic biopsy and based on my MRI results showing "numerous" masses that appeared to be fibroadenomas I chose to proceed with a bilateral mastectomy on August 30, 2016. One year cancer free next week!! My final pathology from the mastectomy upgraded me to High Grade DCIS estrogen & progesterone +. I am not taking Tamoxifen. I was having pelvic pain, so my GYN ordered a Pelvic Ultrasound that showed two complex adnexal masses in May. I just had a repeat ultrasound to see if they resolved after 3 cycles....they did not. The radiologist came in & talked with me & said it doesn't look "scary or evil", but that they are persistent and she feels like they are probably endometriomas. I see my GYN on 9/7 to discuss next steps. I did what I shouldn't and google endometrioma & ovarian cancer. It looks like they can progress to ovarian cancer, but I am not sure. Just wondering if anyone on this site has experience with this?

    A few months later...

I had endometriomas a few years ago. I had a laparoscopy as there was another mass which they could not work out, which luckily was benign. If I had not had the othermass, they would not have operated on the endometriomas. As I understand it, endometriomas are typically part of endometriosis, which causes increased inflammation, which can lead to probs with fertility, increased cancer risk. The endometriomas themselves are not problematic (except for causing issues with fertility) unless eg large and causing discomfort

So managing inflammation via diet, exercise is a good idea,

UPDATE: After meeting with a GYN/ONC, she recommended that I go ahead and remove the ovary/tube with the suspected endometriomas as they have grown over the past 6 months. I am scheduled for the surgery on 12/11/17.
