Intrathecal Chemo Questions

Hi All-

This question is about my mom. She was diagnosed with bone mets last April. She just recently had an MRI which showed a spot on the lining of her brain, and then they tested her CSF which came back clean. However, her oncologist is talking about still going with intrathecal chemo to stop the spread of the cells that have metastasized? (They stay it's not a tumor, but I'm unclear as I am far away and either my mom isn't getting good information or she just isn't describing it well). Does anyone have experience with this or have any insight? I am terrified and confused and I don't know if this is a realistic measure to take even though no cancer cells were found in her CSF. Any stories or information would be greatly appreciated
