3D Nipple Tattoos

Hello! This is Trent Wyczawski of The Vinnie Myers Team. I'm new to this forum and want to make myself available to answer questions or address concerns regarding our role in helping women finish their journey with tattoos. I have been tattooing for 15 years and have been doing Nipple tattoos full time for the last 4 years. Do you know anyone in the Boston area that does nipple tattoos?

Paul and I travel to Boston about 4-5 times per year. we work out of the Faulkner center at Brigham and Women's hospital. Currently we are only allowed to see patients of the Brigham but I have heard of people becoming patients so they can get tattooed by us! We will be there in October and possibly once more in December

I had my mastectomy and reconstruction at Brigham but that was in 1996. I currently am not connected to a B+W Physician. I'm going to inquire.

Do you have any specific dates when you'll be at Brigham? Also how much is this likely to cost me?

I think the October trip is booked at this point but we are trying to get back there in early December. As far as cost, depending on your needs it could be two different prices. When we travel it costs us a lot more to take it on the road and work in some of these cities. For bilateral tattooing the cost is $1200 and any touch ups required are at no cost when you see myself or Paul. Most people don't need touch ups but we can't predict how anyone will heal. Often times there are so many variables post reconstruction we have to account for as we are tattooing over scar tissue, radiation, thin skin etc. once in awhile a second sitting will really help the result. We provide you with an insurance submission form to receive compensation from your insurance company. Even though it is out of pocket for you what we charge is far less than most plastic surgeons and your result will be far better with our technique and experience. Great news that you'll be moving this way! I'm hoping to get mine done next spring so I'm especially excited! Can you help with the great debate....to add origami-style nipples before the tattoo or just do the 3D tattoo on flat skin? So many of us angst over this decision!! What's your preference as a tattoo artist?

I am very excited to be headed that way myself! Thanks for the question it's a very good one! I always begin with saying it's up to you what you want to look like and how it would make you feel. Sometimes that projection is very important to women. That said, they are "turned on" all the time! That will force you to wear a bra if you don't want nipples poking out from under your shirt. The other thing to consider is sometimes that Nipple protrusion doesn't like to take up the pigment as it is a lot of scar tissue. If it is in the shape of a small mound it does better that some of the other types. Finally, as a tattooer, I really like flat healthy skin the best! It gives me complete control to create the best tattoo possible. I hope this helps

Hello there!

I'm wondering if you are booking appointments in the near future for Brigham and Women's? My surgery was in March, I'll be needing one breast done. I'm curious if there is another option of tattoo choice on the breast, perhaps a rose? Just curious, if I decide not to do a nipple tattoo?

Hey thanks for the questions! We will be making a trip back to Brigham and Women's in December. I'm not sure how many people are on the list. The best thing would be to call the shop and speak with Tasha. She handles the Boston trip and will have a better handle on the list. When we travel we are only able to do nipple tattoos but if you come to the shop a rose would be no problem

There are more hurdles to jump in Minnesota for licensing. Hopefully I can navigate them and get up and running soon! Hi, I am going to be getting tattoos with your team in the summer at Brigham and Womens in Boston. Can you talk about what restrictions and special care the tattoos need after they are done?

I will be seeing you in Boston along with Paul Bessette! The after care isn’t bad and all of it is outlined on our website. The short version is wash once a day and apply what we give you three times per day. The first four nights you will wear bandages only at night held in place by a bra. During the day no bra no bandages. Starting day five you switch to a lotion. No bra at all until day ten. The only restriction isn’t no soaking the tattoos for two weeks. So don’t plan vacations for a couples weeks after tattooing! When we see you we go into depth. Thanks for the question and I look forward to meeting you

Paul, what do you mean no bra until day 10? My PS does not say anything about that. She is out of Faulkner. Says it is outpatient, you are good to go to work and whatever. How can a professional woman go to work without a bra? I am thinking about tattooing and they gave me your information months ago. The pictures looked good. Just so tired of the vicious cycle of the reconstructive surgeries/procedures.

I understand it’s a bit to ask for time without a bra but it’s a recommendation. If you heal faster then you may wear your bra sooner. The concern we have is that if you aren’t yet healed and have a tight pressing garment over the tattoo you could stick. When you separate the clothing from the tattoo it will damage the skin, create scar tissue, and require tattooing again. Our goal is to only have to see you once and our attention to detail in our healing instructions is designed with your best interests in mind. I hope this helps!
