hi annidreat my mom has a lung nodule. She was tnbc in 2015. but she never had any type of scan except mammo. But now on her first follow up scan which was of her abdomen and pelvis. They found a solitary lung nodule on jer right lung. I am also very tensed after that.I am also thinki g about the aggresive nature of tnbc but the surgeon will take final decision on it on tuesday.Nodules can be because of some type of infection or tb.

thank you for responding. My doc wants me to wait until sept 26 for a follow up scan as he said they are too small to biopsy. I have 5 total in both lungs largest being 6mm. When I asked how large they must be to biopsy I was told 7-8mm. I am having a really hard time dealing with this. I am trying to get no appt it's the lung surgeon to try to pursuade a biopsy now. Good luck on Tuesday. X

Hello... I hope you are both well.

I had two small nodules on my first CT C/A/P. The larger was 6 mm. This, and some liver cysts, contributed to a few days of chewing my nails while they evaluated whether it was de novo mets. They decided to treat them as incidentalomas and I enrolled in a trial for early stage TNBC.

I bought a follow up CT after four rounds of Doxil / Carboplatin did not result in PCR. The 6 mm one was still there, and the other one was not visualized on the scan.

My med onco's advice to me was that if I were to experience distant mets, that it would likely result in symptoms or changes evident in a follow up exam - routine repeat CTs would be unlikely to find anything before that.So I don't give them much thought.
