I have been told this week by Vanderbilt ER, My PCP and the BCS Program (who are a god sent) that I most likely have IBC. My grandfather and 2 great aunts died from this, so if course I'm scared. I'm scheduled with A radiologist tomorrow and a surgeon Monday.

My question is are these other things I've been experiencing the last few weeks related. I haven't thought to ask the doctors because I tend to get emotional and not think straight in the process. I'm writing notes of questions for the surgeon, but I'm unable to sleep and in my head.

My rash has almost went pretty much away today away after12 days but my skin feels and looks different. I'm having a very sharp pelvic pain that come and go tonight with lower back pain. For the last 3 weeks I have several days a week that can't stay awake and sleep for 18+ a day. On those days my body aches like someone who has the flu. (As a single Mom of 3, who is a student and works this is obviously affecting my life) Also I've been having a period with little2-3 day before for almost a month.

Is this typical or related?

RedIsTheBest, I'm so sorry I don't have answers for you, but wanted to say I'm so sorry you find yourself worried about a possible IBC diagnosis. There is a member here, Kicks, who had IBC. Why don't you PM her to ask questions? Good luck and please do let us know how we can help!

    Hi Red!

Only your Drs can tell you what is going on after possible scans/tests. I can't nor can anyone else here.- we can only give our personal experiences and what we have been told by our Drs and our research for info. There are a multitude of possibilities for rashes on all parts of the body that have no relationship with any type of cancer.

IBC does not always present with 'redness/rash'. IF 'it' does present with skin issues, it does not get 'better/go away' but progresses aggressively/rapidly in days. As it does no matter how 'it' presents.

I had no 'redness/rash'. Definately not any of the other issues you are having. Getting those checked out might be a good idea.

Always tell your Drs all that you are experiencing no matter what the reason for seeing them.! They need all info possible to make an assesment as MANY issues may be inter-related or not related BUT they NEED all possible info to know what all is/might be going on.

    Expect a PM tonight.
