Hi,

I was diagnosed via breast ultrasound with Radial Scar in my left breast today. I figured something was wrong because I have been having pain in this breast for some time now. The doctor said it's probably benign but I still have to have a stereostatic biopsy which is scheduled for early September. ( I guess she thinks it's benign, or I'd be in there sooner for a biopsy). So, do you think this is something that may need removed considering the pain? Has anyone else on here had this?

Thankss!

Kelli, why don't you copy this to your original thread so people can follow the whole story? It makes more sense to answer when you can see the entire situation in context.

Also, it saves you having to remember you a bunch of different threads to update when you get your biopsy results.

i had a radial scar with stereotactic. They did an open biopsy to make sure there was no cancer to get a bigger piece. It showed atypical lobular hyperplasia

    Hi Stix,

I'm assuming that is all benign? If so, that's good.

hi I was diagnosed with 8 radial scars. Unfortunately normally they would remove scar but affects top half of both breasts. So not possible.

I have had intermittent and now persistent pain in left breast. Naively or not assumed cyst as had many aspirated. Complicated by chest pain with muscle spasm/chondritis as have fibromyalgia too.

Anyway radial scar causing pain. So had 5 core biopsies taken and results Monday;(

It's somewhat frustrating condition as I have 8 never recorded before they freely admit am unique and don't know best course of action other than mammo (3d tomo) and Mri yearly.
