Good morning. My mom was recently diagnosed with TNBC and is undergoing 8 rounds of chemo followed by a mastectomy. She completed her first treatment a week ago and has been doing fairly well. She's having a hard time sleeping and is really tired but hasn't felt sick. Last she started running a temp (100.3) and has been having some stomach pains. She's going to call the doctor this morning but I was just wondering if anyone know what the cause of this may be or if it's something that happens sometimes?

Thanks!

i ran fever after three of my four chemo treatments. I was hospitalized for 5 days with sepsis and excruciating pain after the first chemo. That was an unpleasant experience. The other two times I ran fever i went to the ER, where they did some blood tests and gave me antibiotics and IV fluids for about 8 hours.

I had fevers during each round of chemo. Fortunately each lasted less than 48 hours. My MO thinks that the fevers were just a SE for me.

Glad your Mom is calling the doctor.

Popples, please don't delay in seeking treatment for your mom's fever. This can be a very serious situation. In the meantime, give your mom Panadol to try to reduce the fever.

I ran fevers after a few of my chemo rounds. Fortunately they were never high enough where my MO sent me to the ER, but it was "normal" for me. The first cycle was actually the worst, they got shorter and lower after that,
